Top Tasks Identification

How to identify and prioritise what is most important

About

Developed over twenty years of rigorous research in some of the most complex organisational environments in the world, Top Tasks Identification is a survey-based research method that helps you identify what truly matters to people. Just as importantly, Top Tasks helps you clearly identify the tiny tasks. It is often the tiny tasks that are most damaging as they clutter and confuse the website/app.

This course teaches you how to collect clear, statistically reliable evidence of which tasks are and are not important to people. It thus helps you to remove and simplify, to strip away and focus on what truly matters.

Over a twenty-year period, Top Tasks has been successfully implemented all over the world for hundreds of organisations such as Cisco, Toyota, Microsoft, the Irish health service, Oslo University, and the European Union.

Who this course is for / not for

As a general rule, the larger, more complex and more political the environment, the better Top Tasks works. The smaller the website/app, the less useful it will be. Top Tasks has been designed mainly for use with medium to large websites and apps. At the core, it taps into research, user experience and information architecture skills.

This course is great for digital managers, UX managers, researchers and product owners. Of course, people with roles of other names are always welcome!

“This was a lot of information, absolutely worth every penny and every minute. This should be a standard that we should all be familiar with in the UX research and design. This would save so much pain on the user side and resources/time in the product development/marketing side.”
