Expert practitioners and expert teachers

Being an expert practitioner and an expert teacher are two different sets of skills. This is Doing brings together industry leaders who have both to provide a single, easy-to-access source of learning experiences for a wide range of design and innovation disciplines and roles. Learn directly from the people whose books, podcasts, presentations and writing you already turn to for advice at times that are convenient to you.

All of our online classes are delivered by internationally recognised thought-leaders and practitioners with long industry experience. Many are authors of the books the industry turn to for advice.

Flexible

We have carefully selected times to fit within your working day. We have designed This is Doing to be as flexible of an experience as possible, making it easy for you to attend and stay on course.

High Quality

All of our online classes are delivered by internationally recognised thought-leaders and practitioners with long industry experience. Many are authors of the books the industry turn to for advice.

Futureproof

Our courses are designed to help you design for the future. We don’t teach skills that reinforce poor practices, harm the planet or society. We believe in a richly diverse and inclusive society, and our methods and materials reflect this. We want to teach you new skills and will help you shape a new and improved world.

Appropriate

We don’t believe that your current job title dictates what you can and can’t do. Many skills run across all aspects of design and innovation and career levels. We are constantly working on our curriculum to offer a rich, broad range of appropriate learning experiences whatever your level or role.

How courses work

We want to deliver the best possible, most personal learning experience.

Online classrooms

Once you have signed up and paid for your course, you will start to receive e-mails from This is Doing and be onboarded into your online classroom.

Having fun

In all of our classrooms, we try and bring as much personality and interaction as possible, It’s our goal to make your learning experience as enjoyable as possible.

How classes run online

Live online classes are conducted over video call with your trainer facilitating the session. Classes usually take a maximum of 25 participants at any one time to ensure everyone gets a personal experience and attention.

Missing classes

Courses vary but you will usually have a set time each week to join your classroom learning online. If you can’t attend the course at that time, a recording of the session will be made available so you can catch up at a time that suits you. Even if you were attending, you can also go back over the material taught.

Asking questions is a breeze

In real-world classrooms, some people can find it difficult to ask questions in front of others, but with our online classrooms you can ask questions to the trainer privately. The questions will be covered before the end of the session.

Video Courses

Once you have signed up and paid for your course, you will receive an e-mail from This is Doing with your access details. One of the best reasons to use video courses is that they are  ready to go, and you don’t have to wait for a class to begin.

You control the pace at which you are learning. It can be a great way to get an introduction into a topic that you might be interested in exploring further in an online classroom course with others.

The video courses are made up of pre-recorded screencasts by the trainer along with other materials and activities. Since these are pre-recorded, each video course has an e-mail address that allows you to send in questions. A member of the This is Doing team will respond and try to answer it for you.

How payment works

We want to make it as easy as possible for you.

Paying in instalments

We offer flexible payment options for customers. Payments may be split into installments, but the full payment must be completed by the end of the course.

You can control how you would like to spread the repayment by adjusting the timing and rates. For example, if you booked a €600 6-week course 4-weeks in advance of it starting, you would have ten weeks to complete this payment. Or you might pay €100 per week for three weeks and then final €300 in the final week of the course.

What happens if I miss a payment?

We want to make it as accessible to people to learn, but we know  sometimes life happens and payments get rejected from time to time. If a payment is missed, we will notify you by e-mail at once so that you can make the payment  promptly. If the payment has not been received after three days, we will send a final-reminder. After that you will lose access to the remainder of the course.

Please get in touch with us to resolve any payment problems as soon as possible.

Online classrooms

Many businesses request payment via invoice. Please e-mail us to arrange this, but note that all payments by invoice must be paid in full before your course commences.
